The problem:
With New Zealand an increasingly desirable destination for leisure and corporate travellers, with arrivals to the country increasing by 50% since 2010, there is on-going demand for quality hotel accommodation.
In Wellington, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has partnered with Safari Group to construct the Ramada Suites, a 93-room hotel and conference facility in the heart of the capital.
Safari Group needed a solution to create a safe passageway for pedestrians around the high-profile development on Taranaki St.
The solution:
Royal Wolf’s Building and Construction range of containers are designed specifically for the building industry and can be configured to maximise tight inner-city construction sites where space is at a minimum.
Our 10kPa rated container hoardings were ideal for this busy, road-side site and enable the construction of Ramada Suites to proceed smoothly while ensuring members of the public and workers are kept safe.
The result:
Royal Wolf constructed two stretches of pedestrian hoardings – also known as gantries – to skirt each side of the hotel construction site.
One side was lined with seven Royal Wolf gantries to create a more than 40m long container tunnel as a temporary footpath, with ramps at each end. A shorter run of two containers was installed on the other side of the site to create a separate safe walkway for pedestrians.
