MEET YOUR WOLF PACK – RITA BORDIN

600

A manager, a mum and an author – Royal Wolf’s Rita Bordin does it all.

As one of Royal Wolf’s five regional administration managers, Rita plays a key role in reaching resolutions with clients and analysing the finances for depots across Victoria and Tasmania.

“My role is quite diverse and interesting. I oversee most of the complex administration issues and take care of profit and loss statements across seven of our depots,” Rita explains.

“I get involved in resolving most of the complex issues around debtors and try to resolve any disputes that pop up when it comes to agreements about hiring our equipment.

“At the end of the day we want a resolution, we don’t want to be so stubborn and inflexible that in the future businesses won’t want to deal with Royal Wolf. So it’s my role to negotiate when these issues arise and find a compromise.”

Rita enjoys using her interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships to excel in her position.

“I love the administration and the reconciliation of sorting out the issues by talking to customers, vendors and other stakeholders within the company,” Rita says.

PUTTING FAMILY FIRST

Before joining Royal Wolf, Rita ran her own business from 2004 to 2018, so she could set her own hours.

“I’ve made decisions on my career based around my children. I wanted to pick them up and drop them off at school, and the only way I could do that was to run my own small bookkeeping business,” Rita says.

“I did that for years simply so I could be there for them.”

JOINING ROYAL WOLF
In 2018 Rita closed her bookkeeping business and joined Royal Wolf as an administration manager, before the role evolved into her current position.

“All of us who held that title had a far more elevated role and Royal Wolf thought that ought to be recognised,” Rita says.

Rita loves being part of the Royal Wolf family.

“My favourite part is the people. There are some terrific people here, and I make it my business to form good relationships with everyone I come across,” she says.

“I love their giving nature and ability to give you their time to explain what they do and how it impacts Royal Wolf.”

CHILDREN’S AUTHOR

In addition to working at Royal Wolf, Rita is a published author of children’s books aimed at eight- to 14-year-olds.

Under the pen name Lucy R. Martin, Rita has published four books in a series called The Night Before Christmas, No It Wasn’t.

“These books have been in my head for about 30 years, but I’ve always been too afraid or haven’t had enough time – but I finally got them done,” Rita says.

“I’ve got a couple more books in my head that I’ve just started writing.”
