A four-unit container hub is providing shelter for workers and secure storage during the upgrade of the watermain replacement project to support regional growth south-west of Auckland.
Leading horizontal directional drilling specialists, CDS NZ Ltd, worked with Royal Wolf to create a container solution that met its team’s specific site needs as part of the long-term project in Glenbrook.
Because the site had no facilities, and limited established infrastructure to connect to, CDS required two office containers and a lunchroom to house its team on site, and a 10-foot Wolf Lock container for the safe and secure storage of equipment.
Callum Diprose, Royal Wolf Branch Manager, says: “Our containers support companies like CDS to increase efficiencies and provide safe work site solutions to ensure teams can get on and do the job at hand with limited disruption.”
Customer relationships key
Diprose has worked with CDS for a number of years hiring containers to the company for a variety of projects.
“Close collaboration with customers is critical and we work with them to ensure we provide or develop the best product possible to meet their requirements.
“It’s always great to go out and visit customers on-site to see what they do, how projects are developing, and how they are using the containers to support their work.
“It also means we can see first-hand what improvements and additions we might be able to make to our products to help customers solve business challenges.”
The Glenbrook project CDS is undertaking will reduce the existing four discharge points down to one. “CDS has some super impressive equipment, and it was fascinating to get an insight into the complexities of the drilling process,” says Diprose.
